Folk Art has always been the home to me. Its free spirit, the innocent interpretations, its colours, the colour application styles,-they all facinated me . I took to styding 'Madhubani 'and 'Warli 'art forms.Them down the road in the year 2006, when India's Ministry of Tourism offered me a Senior Felloship in Visual Art,I got to study ' Chitrakathi'.This took me to Pune's Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum with its large collection of ' Chitrakathi ' paintings and leather puppets. There,I was also awared the assignment of creating catalogue for the Museum.
I have done more than 16 Solo shows at reputed Gallaries in Mumbai and also participated in more than 35 group shows on invitation in India and abroad. Participated in ' Cali-Fest 'a Calligraphy Event in the yera 2009, at Mumbai. Also attended National Conference on 'Ajanta Caves 'in the year 2006. My paintings are in collection with National Gallery of Modern Art , Mumbai and many more in India and Abroad.

  Mr. Samip Sawant

I have completed my diploma in Fine Arts in Drawing and Painting (G.D.Art Painting) in 2003 and Diploma in Art Education (Dip.A.Ed) in 2004 from Sir J. J School of Arts, Mumbai. I have been working as a painter and sculptor from last 10 years.
In simple language, difference between 2D and 3D is that in 3D it brings life to the subject. As a sculptor I always visualize things in 3D. Feel and touch fascinates me and like to experiment in this area. To explore the culture and tradition in typography is a great treat. India, the colourful and vibrant land is as diverse as its people. The Indianness of Indian design is understood by the special quality which represents the inherent unity of craft, art, skill and technique. Typography is not just about the arrangement and placement of letters and words, rather it has become a field of art where you can express solely through the use of different styles of fonts with varying sizes. In my workshop I will be experimenting with students with different types of material, things they can associate with Indian culture. These display fonts will help them to be more expressive and pay more attention to aesthetics.
