Title: 'Creating fonts with FontLab 7'

Abstract:  In this session, Adam and Yuri will give an overview of FontLab 7, the pro font editor for macOS and Windows that lets you create and edit fonts in any format for any script on any platform. They will go over the user interface (working with tabs and windows, panels, tools and the built-in help system), show several techniques of drawing glyphs and assembling them from components. They will then present efficient methods of spacing and kerning, and will show basic steps for adding variation to the design. Finally, they will demonstrate ways in which you can add OpenType Layout features and export static and variable OpenType fonts.  After this session, participants will have the knowledge necessary to create their first font project in FontLab 7.
