Jennifer Sterling
AGI member and Founder of Sterling Design, San Francisco.

Jennifer Sterling, an Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI) member since 2000, founded Sterling Design in San Francisco in 1998. She is a creative director, designer, typographer, illustrator, writer and educator. Her work has been included in the permanent collections of The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The Library of Congress, Bibliotheque Nationale de France, Museum Fur Kunst Und Gewerbe, Hamburg and the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum.

The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art hosted a three month solo show entitled "Jennifer Sterling : Selections from the Permanent Collection of Architecture and Design" and has been included in eight of their group shows to date. The Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museums Triennial Exhibit choose 83 designers and companies to showcase their creative of which Jennifer Sterling was one, along with Apple, Nike, and Martha Stewart. Graphis Magazine that named her "One of the Top Ten Designers in the World." USA GD Magazine named her one of the "Twelve Designers to Change Design into the Millennium". Clients and projects have included creating an interactive online design to promote the worldwide distribution of aids awareness and medical distribution to third world countries for Yahoo Inc. as well as creating the worldwide brand "Vital Voices" for Hillary Clinton and Madeleine Albright, an organization which promotes female ambassadorships around the world. In 2016 she asked to create campaign collateral for Hillary Clinton's 2016 Presidential Campaign. Additionally Jennifer has served on the board of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Arts Architectural and Design Accessions Committee as well as serving on the board and as an adjunct professor at CCA (the California College of the Arts / San Francisco), AAU (Academy of Art University / San Francisco) and SVA (School of Visual Arts / New York ) where she has taught Thesis, Identity, Packaging, Experimental / Advanced Typography, UI Web Design and Portfolio. She was inducted into Who's Who in America in 2000 for her work.


Josy Paul
Chairman and Chief Creative Officer, BBDO India

Josy started BBDO India from the backseat of his car in 2008. Along with his partner Ajai Jhala, they pioneered the idea of brand movements with the belief that India needs more 'acts not ads'. Thus began their journey starting with the highly recognised work for P&G Gillette 'Women Against Lazy Stubble' which won the inaugral gold for effectiveness at Cannes in 2011.

In 2015, Josy and his team won the inaugural Glass Lion Grand Prix at Cannes – for Whisper 'Touch The Pickle'. They also won the Glass Lion Gold for Ariel 'Share The load' - in 2015 and 2016. And the effectiveness Lion Gold in 2017. They went on to win the prestigious White Pencil at the D&AD Social Impact awards in 2016. Also the Yellow Pencil at D&AD awards in 2017.

Dads#ShareTheLoad was recognised with the 'Star of Madison Avenue' Award by the Advertising Club of New York and the 2017 ANDYs Bravery Award.

Josy and his team have won several Grand Prix at AdFest, Spikes Asia, APAC Effies and at Indian award shows.

Before BBDO, in June 2000, Josy set up the challenger agency 'David' in India (as a part of Ogilvy and WPP.)

In 2016, Josy was named Creative Agency Head of The Year by the IAA (Indian Advertising Association). Campaign Magazine awarded him 'Creative Person of the Year for India and South Asia' in 2012, 2015 and 2016. He is ranked among the most influential people in Indian advertising - by The Economic Times.

Josy Paul was born during an earthquake and has a permanent tremor. He lives by the mantra, "Think like the navy, deliver like the pirates.

Keitaro Sakamoto

Project Manager, Research Fellow in Graphic Design and Digital Media

Joined Morisawa Inc. in 2008. Worked in promoting Font products and took charge of start-up projects such as "UD Typeface" and "TypeSquare (Web font)". Invited new designs from domestic and overseas for the "Type Design Competition" which was resumed in 2012 after 10 years.

Studied abroad in Rhode Island School of Design, majored in Graphic Design and Digital+Media, as the Research Fellow in 2010. With the experience acquired from RISD, took charge as the project manager of the corporate sites. Participated in design events such as Association Typographique International (ATypI) as the speaker to improve international recognition of Morisawa. Appointed as the guest judge at the Good Design Award 2013.


Gangadharan
Copywriter, Teacher, Journalist, Creative Director

Worked as a school teacher, journalist, actor and director on stage, film actor and documentary film maker before joining advertising. Worked as a Copywriter and Creative Director for 28 years in various agencies including Trikaya, Rediffusion, Ogilvy and Mather, Mudra and McCann Erickson. Won over 50 national and international awards, including Clio, New York Festivals and London International Awards. Work published in The Last Word, Lurzer's Archive, World Advertising Review and Showcase of Indian Advertising. Quit the industry to take up teaching and travel. Has been teaching as visiting faculty for over 25 years and as regular faculty for eight years at Rachana Sansad College of Applied Art and Craft. Over 150 articles on Nature and wildlife published in India's leading newspapers like The Hindu, The Times of India, DNA, Hindustan Times and Mid-Day. The best of these, along with selected wildlife photographs, have been published as two books: Evergreen Leaves and Tales of a Driftwood. A third book on Creative Thinking titled Garden of Ideas is underway. Has been honoured by Sanctuary Asia in 2016 for the contribution in saving the last evergreen forest in India: Silent Valley. Started four film societies in Mumbai: Ruia Film Society, Screen Unit, Sahrudaya, and Rachana Film Society, and has been an integral part of the film society movement of Mumbai City since the mid 70s. Acted in four Malayalam films, one Hindi film, and two English films. Has recently given a TEDx talk on 'Finding your Ikigai' which is essentially about finding the reason for your existence.
